One of the top three cable multiple-system operators (MSOs) in the US is using Wi-Fi service control solutions from Aptilo Networks to create business-to-business opportunities with Wi-Fi, upselling their existing carrier Wi-Fi services to businesses customers. Another cable MSO serving Midwest markets is also using the same solution.

Together, the cable operators reach nine million homes and businesses in 40 states, said Aptilo. Working through an Aptilo partner, they are using the Aptilo Service Management Platform(SMP). Aptilo SMP system is used to deliver and manage carrier-class Wi-Fi services.

Aptilo SMP streamlines Wi-Fi service deployments, allowing cable operators to expand into new verticals. Operators can offer business customers managed guest Wi-Fi services with secure access, analytics and branded captive portals. Business customers can make changes "on the fly" to their guest Wi-Fi services such as dynamic updates of captive portals, turning them into a user engagement tool.

The Aptilo partner offers Aptilo SMP both as a cloud-based managed service and as traditional software deployed in the operator's data center.

One of the MSOs chose the cloud service while the other went for an on-premise installation. Their decisions can easily be changed as both deployments are based on the same Aptilo SMP which is trusted by more than 100 rators for its scalability, flexibility and stability.
