Virtual Network Security Appliance (NSA) market is forecast to accelerate in 2016, with Cloud Service Providers expected to be major contributors to the growth as they sell virtual appliances, according to marker research firm Dell’Oro Group. It forecasts 2016 virtual NSA revenue to increase more than 60 percent over the current year levels.
“The Cloud’s pay-as-you-grow pricing and on-demand provisioning allow companies to purchase only what they need, thus reducing up-front costs and ensuring efficiency,” said Casey Quillin, Director at Dell’Oro Group. “We expect customers’ comfort and confidence in the use of software security solutions to increase owing to several advantages offered by virtual NSA, including greater flexibility and novel security solutions that can monitor new vulnerabilities."
Dell'Oro notes that this year, several vendors including Barracuda Networks, Cisco, Fortinet, Juniper and Palo Alto Networks saw very strong growth in virtual network security appliance sales.
