TechSci Research: BTS Market in India to Reach 1.8 Million Units by 2019

The total number of installed BTS in India is projected to cross 1.8 million units by 2019, said TechSci Research, a global market research and consulting company with offices in Canada, UK and India via its recently published report "India Base Transceiver Station (BTS) Market Forecast & Opportunities, 2019".

TechSci highlights that Nokia Solutions Networks, Ericsson and Huawei are expected to continue their market domination with average BTS deployments per telecom tower forecast to increase by over 50% by 2019 compared to 2013.

According to the report, the growth in telecom towers and  BTS installation across India are driven by a few important factors, mainly the increase in the number of mobile subscriptions and the rapid growth of mobile data traffic. It added that the growing 3G and 4G penetration is also expected to boost the BTS market in India.

The research firm also forecasts tower sharing business to experince a robust growth over the next five years

In addition, TechSci points out that Vodafone and Airtel are leading the market in terms of total number of BTS installations in the country.

Increasing consumer spending and growing penetration of smartphones is expected to drive the mobile data market in the country over the next 5-10 years. Further, with increasing penetration of 3G as well as 4G services, a significant number of new BTS installations are anticipated to come up in the country during the next five years."
