Policy Based Video Optimization to Drive Delivery of Rich Mobile Content

Core Analysis, a boutique consulting firm covering various technology segments for the telecommunications sector released mid-term updates to its third edition of the 'Mobile Video Monetization and Optimization' Report, summarizing the overall trends within the mobile video optimization segment and the performance of the major solution providers within the segment.

The report highlighted the evolution of the solutions in this segment from a broad, binary application of the technology to the current more granular, targeted implementation that involves the application of intelligent policy rules resulting in optimization that is based on content, time, location, traffic condition and other variables within the network.

According to the report, most vendors are also launching customer engagement tools, sophisticated analytics or new video charging capabilities to enable early monetization plays. The update enlisted the following vendors - Flash Networks, Citrix, OpenWave Mobility, Venturi Wireless, Allot, Avvasi,NSN, Opera and Vantrix - as the major market leaders for the segment.
