Diane Myers, principal analyst for VoIP, UC and IMS at Infonetics Research reports that the Enterprise Session Border Controllers (eSBC) market grew 42% in 2013. The market share information from Infonetics 4th quarter 2013 (4Q13) report, points out that the market size has reached $255 million by end of 2013, with 75% of the eSBC revenues coming from North America.
The enterprise SBC which is typically deployed to securely connect VoIP and Unified Communications (UC) systems to SIP trunking and external networks, sees Cisco and Oracle on neck-and-neck in this highly competitive segment which boasts another 10 vendors.
"Demand for enterprise session border controllers (eSBCs) continues to be strong as businesses transition to SIP trunking. North America remains the primary region for the eSBC market, but enterprises in other regions, particularly Europe, are accelerating adoption of SIP trunking, which in turn should positively impact eSBC sales outside North America,” notes Diane Myers, principal analyst for VoIP, UC, and IMS at Infonetics Research
