Tokyo-headquartered security software vendor, Trend Micro has signed an agreement to acquire HP TippingPoint for approximately $300 million. HP TippingPoint provides next-generation intrusion prevention systems (NGIPS) and related network security solutions. 

Trendmicro in a blog post, said that "Upon completion of the acquisition, we will be established as the clear go-to enterprise security provider, addressing targeted attacks and advanced threats from the network and datacenter, to the cloud and endpoints. For the latest threat intelligence, TippingPoint’s Digital Vaccine and Zero Day Initiative augments TrendLabs and our global Smart Protection Network to provide unmatched expertise and response".

Trend Micro and TippingPoint have been working together since last year and will continue to do so, said Trend Micro in a statement.
