Huawei's 2014 global sales revenue is expected to reach about US$46 billion, an increase of nearly 20% year-on-year. The company, in its recent announcement of its unaudited financial results, said that apart from the strong increase in sales, it also has made huge investments during the year on its research and development initiatives, totaling more than US$ 6 billion. Huawei, the world's second-largest supplier of networking equipments for telecom carriers after Ericsson, announced that its carrier, enterprise, and consumer business groups recorded strong performances in 2014 with each registering year-on-year growth of 15%, 27% and  32% repectively.

Huawei's carrier business is driven primarily by the large number of 3G and 4G deployments across the globe. At the same time, the Shenzhen-based company's consumer business saw higher sale of mid-range and high-end handsets within a rapidly growing smartphone market worldwide.

At the presentation of the results, Chief Financial Officer Cathy Meng attributed the company's positive growth to being customer-centric, treating dedicated employees as the foundation, and continuously implementing management and organizational transformation across the organization
