Ahead of its commercial launch, Reliance Jio Infocomm unveiled four new Android Lollipop-based 4G smartphones, code named 'LYF' - its own brand, ahead of its 4G service launch. The operator is currently conducting internal beta testing with its employees and plans to introduce the devices to the market by late December, it said. The phones were originally expected to hit the market during the Diwali holiday in November.

The LYF smartphones which support features like High-Definition (HD) Voice, HD Video Calling, Voice over LTE (VoLTE) and VoWi-Fi will be priced between INR 15,499 and INR 25,800. The phones support all GSM bands including 850 MHz, 1800 MHz, 900 MHz and 1900 MHz; LTE-TDD Band 40 of 2300 MHz; UMTS WCDMA bands such as 2100 MHz and 900 MHz; and LTE-FDD Band 3 of 1800 MHZ or Band 5 of 850 MHz. Additionally, 802.11 b/g/n and BT-V4.0 are also supported on these smartphones.

The smartphones features include the following:

 - Octa-Core 1.5 GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 615 processors

 - Graphic Processor Unit (GPU) Adreno405 @ 550 MHz

 - Lithium-ion Polymer batteries (Li-Po) with capacities ranging between 2400 mAh and 3500 mAh
