Nexus 6 on Android 5.0 Lollipop Debuts in US at USD649, Snapped Up Within Minutes on Google Play Store

According to NeoWin, the new Nexus 6 by Motorola sold out within minutes of being open for pre-orders this week on Google Play Store in the US. Customers in other countries, specifically UK and Canada can expect the phone to be available sometime in November although exact dates are yet to be set, according to some sources. The Nexus 6 features Android 5.0 Lollipop Operating System by Google and is a major upgrade from the smaller and cheaper Nexus 5, its predecessor, being priced USD300 more at USD649 (without SIM).

The Nexus 6 adds to the family of Motorola smartphones including the Moto series and Google's Nexus phones. Pursuant to the recent acquisition of Motorola Mobility by Lenovo, this latest addition will soon be seen alongside Lenovo's other smartphones - Vibe X, S Series, P Series and A Series which are all powered by Google's operating systems.

The Nexus 6 phone features amongst others, Quad HD display, a 13 megapixel camera with Optical Image Stabilization and HDR+  and around-the-clock 3220 mAh battery.  In addition to this, the phone includes Motorola Turbo Charger that gives an additional 6 hours of battery life with just 15 minutes of charging. This new smartphone introduces Material Deisgn that makes content highly responsive to touch and voice, while making transitioning between tasks more fluid. The Nexus 6 also comes with dual front-facing stereo speakers that provide an immersive stereo sound for music, movies and games. Motorola Mobility Canada, in its statement said that apart from being available on Google Play Store, the phone will also be available via its carrier partners and added that more details are expected to be unveiled in due course.
