AT&T announced two days ago that it will be offering the brand new LG G Watch R, a cutting-edge Android Wear smartwatch. AT&T said that the LG G Watch R features the world's first full circle P-OLED display. The LG G Watch made it debut early last month, and joins LG's line of Android Wear-powered smartwatches the company started introducing this year. Smartwatches which are seeing a sharp increase in demand this year are now being offered by service providers as part of their device packages. AT&T's subscribers can look forward for an announcement of the pricing and availability of the LG G Watch R in coming weeks.
The LG G Watch R is powered by the 1.2GHz Snapdragon 400 processor, and comes with 4GB of storage and 512MB of RAM and a 410 mAh battery. According to AT&T, the LG G Watch R is IP67 water resistant with a premium PVD metal finish watch face. It comes in a classically-inspired design and can be customized with changeable faces and wristbands.
By pairing smartwatches with a smart mobile device such as the smart phone, information from the device such as call and message notifications, reminders of events and meetings and local weather forecasts can be accessed on the smartwatch. The LG G Watch R offers enables users to access these and a host of other information via voice-based instructions including searching, sending a text, setting an alarm, or taking a note. Users can also access a suite of LG health and fitness apps to monitor health measurements such as their heart rate.
