AT&T became the first carrier to offer a unique wearable experience for early adopters and content creators by introducing Samsung Gear VR Innovator Edition this Friday. The smartphone-driven over-the-head virtual video and gaming device delivers a new way to experience mobile content – in a full 360 degree environment. The new gadget is priced at $199 and available online at AT&T's and also from Samsung websites.
The Gear VR Innovator Edition is powered by the Galaxy Note® 4, which easily locks in to the headset with a microUSB connection, to generate both the content and provide battery life. The Galaxy Note 4’s 5.7 inch Quad HD Super AMOLED® display delivers a stunning visual experiences. Additionally, the Gear VR Innovator Edition has touch controls and a back button on the right side of the headset to easily navigate through various contents. Volume controls are also located on the right side, with a focus dial situated on top to easily adjust visual clarity.
Built with soft, flexible cushioning and lightweight materials, the Gear VR Innovator Edition is comfortable to wear. It’s completely wireless for a more accessible virtual reality experience, so users can be fully engaged in a game or video without being tethered to a computer. The Gear VR Innovator Edition includes pre-loaded content on a 16GB card, but you can download additional games and applications from the Oculus VR app.
