Vodafone Italy, this week has enabled VoLTE-based High Definition (HD) calls on its 4G network along with a suite of real time sharing services via its new app, Call +. Vodafone Italy said that the 4G Voice service will be available at no additional cost for all customers 4G with compatible smartphones such as the Samsung S6, S6 Edge Samsung, Samsung S5, iPhone 6, iPhone 6 Plus, LG G4 and Microsoft Lumia 640.
According to Vodafone Italy, the Call + app meanwhile, enables subscribers to share multimedia content in real-time while making a call, using features on the app that allows them to drag items such as images and locations on a map onto the screen and port it over to the recipient all while the call is on-going.The app also allows users to make video calls in 4G with just a click, and even allows the user to snap photos and share them in real time. Vodafone Italy says that the Call+ app has high interoperability as it is based on international standards and is expected to garner a lot of interest as it helps users to do things previously not possible during a call - such as sharing comments on Internet content, sending audio clips and sharing the screen for real-time whiteboard-style interaction.
