Telefónica has selected the Amdocs Data Hub to provide a rich open-source environment for data modernization at its Vivo operations in Brazil.

Telefónica’s selection of this Amdocs big data solution for Vivo is an expansion of its transformation project to provide a seamless, multi-channel experience for Vivo’s quad-play customers across wireline (including fiber), wireless (pre- and postpaid), Internet (including fiber) and TV (including IPTV).

Vivo is one of Brazil’s premier communications service providers, with more than 97 million access lines across mobile, internet and data, pay-TV and fixed telephony lines of business.

The Amdocs solution extracts large volumes of data from a wide range of operational platforms and maps these data sets into a logical data model with aggregated customer insights. This environment allows Vivo to quickly generate business results with a smarter data-centric IT environment.

The Amdocs Data Hub solution in Vivo is based on the telecom-specific Amdocs Logical Data Model, which integrates service providers’ diverse BSS, operational support systems (OSS) and core network data sources into one holistic view across all lines of business, thereby enabling seamless extraction, processing and visualization of their massive volumes of data; the solution also includes processes and tools for data validation, reconciliation and quality.

Alessandra Bomura Nogueira, Chief Information Officer of Telefónica Brazil
This data modernization project is an essential element of our transformation project. The business support systems we have provide key insights into our customers’ needs and journeys.

Manuel Zepeda, president for the Caribbean and Latin America region at Amdocs
By extracting and analyzing a wealth of customer data from our BSS systems and third-party systems, the Data Hub will give Telefónica Brazil the business insights needed to react quickly to changing market dynamics.
