Vodafone New Zealand First to Deliver iPhone 7 via Drone

Friday morning last week, Vodafone New Zealand made headlines when it made an iPhone 7 delivery via a drone, the first of its kind anywhere in the world.

A customised drone took off from Vodafone’s Viaduct Harbour headquarters in Auckland with the latest generation of Apple's smartphone. Strapped to the custom drone piloted by David ‘The Mad Scientist’ Drummond and his team, the Rose Gold iPhone 7 Plus flew around the Viaduct before being delivered to Irene Hu outside the Hilton Hotel on Princes Wharf. Irene Hu was one of Vodafone’s first customers to pre-order their iPhone 7 online.

Vodafone’s flagship store on Queen Street also joined the iPhone 7 action that morning, with Apple enthusiasts lining up from as early as 8pm on Thursday evening.

Technology and innovation is at the heart of what we do, and this is another example of how Vodafone can bring this to life in a way that’s exciting for our customers.
