Ahead of the 2016 Summer Olympic Games, TIM Brazil has launced VoLTE/ViLTE and VoWiFi services in the capital city, Rio De Janeiro to enable its 4G customers and international visitors to the games to enjoy HD audio and video calls with instant call connection and seamless handover. The second largest mobile operator in Brazil, serving 75 million subscribers held a media conference to demonstrate the NFV-based 4G HD audio and video communication. 

The Operator has worked with Huawei for the cloud-based next generation 4G communication services that are aimed at improving the communication experience for the Rio Olympics. TIM Brazil deployed Huawei CloudCore solution for to support the services. The deployment includes CloudIMS, the universal E9000 hardware, and FusionSphere-OpenStack Cloud OS. 

This will effectively deal with traffic surges that may occur during the Olympic events, said Huawei.
