Mexican Triple-Play Operator, Totalplay has officially launched its 4K UHD service which is four times higher definition than standard HD. The Operator is not only the first to launch the service in Mexico, but also the first carrier in Latin America to offer access to 4K TV to its customers.

This service, which will cost an additional MXN $199 (USD $ 10.5) per month promises a high definition broadcast TV transmissions on 1080i resolutions.

Totalplay customers will be using 4K next generation set-top box provided by Sagemcom that is built around a BCM7252S digital core from Broadcom, supporting the HEVC standard. Users can enjoy interactive TV, video on demand and exclusive content via special build-in apps on the set-top, Deezer, TuneIn, CBeebies, FoxPlay and Netflix. In addition Totalplay users can enjoy their favorite programming anywhere, through Totalplay app for Smartphones and tablets with IOS, Android and the Windows 7 operating system.
