Telefónica Germany, O2 has relaunched the former E-Plus mobile brand Base as an online-only brand targeted at online-savvy and cost-conscious new customers. Base's former customers had been transferred to O2 after Telefonica Germany's merger with E-Plus. With the relaunch, the Operator continues the restructuring of Base's brand portfolio. 

New Base customers will be supported exclusively via digital channels. The service will also be supported via a smart self-care channel, while for more complex issues and transactions, customers can secure support via the Base Live Chat as well as Facebook and Twitter. 

Base's revised portfolio will include four tariff levels - Light, Pur, Plus and Pro. Under the portfolio which is offered exclusively for new customers under a minimum contract duration of 24 months, the Base Light comes with unlimited calls and SMS, as well as 2GB of browsing at LTE speedfor Euro 9.99. For Euro 24.99 per month, subscribers get unlimited calls and SMS, 5GB of data as well as a flat EU roaming rate.
