After launching VoLTE end of last year to a select group of subscribers, A1 Telekom Austria became the first operator in the country to combine VoLTE and WiFi Calling in a single plan dubbed 'Voice Plus' which aims to provide better voice quality, faster connection speeds and wider network coverage including in hard to reach areas such as basements.
The new service will be available at no additional cost to all A1 customers with a compatible smartphone and tariff plan, covering ‘A1 Go!’, ‘A1 Basic’ and ‘Red Bull MOBILE Volume’.
The service, said A1, will be supported by 13 devices, covering the following:
- Samsung: Galaxy S5 , Galaxy S5 Neo , Galaxy S6 , Galaxy S6 edge , Galaxy S7 , Galaxy S7 edge , Galaxy A3 (2016) ,Galaxy A5 (2016)
- Sony: Xperia Z5 , Xperia Z5 Compact , Xperia Z5 Premium , Xperia X
- Apple: iPhone 6 , iPhone 6 Plus , iPhone 6s , iPhone 6s Plus , iPhone SE
The operator plans to expand the supported models to 20 in total by the end of this year.
