YouTube Red Goes Down Under

YouTube this week launched its premium YouTube Red subscription ad-free service in Australia and New Zeland, making both countries the first to have the service outside of the US. YouTube is offering a free trial of the service for a month, with introductory pricing of A$9.99 per month until June 6th. Youtube is also including YouTube Music app, designed to make discovering, watching, and listening to music easier than ever. The standard monthly subscription for the entire plan is $11.99 per month.

A YouTube Red membership lets users enjoy ad-free access to all videos and will also have the ability to keep videos playing in the background on their mobile devices while they multi-task. In addition, users can also save videos to watch offline.

As a special bonus, YouTube Red comes with premium access to Google Play Music, and existing subscribers to Google Play Music need not sign up separately to be included in YouTube Red.
