AT&T announced that it has expanded its Gigabit broadband service, GigaPower with speeds up to 1Gbps to more homes, apartments and small businesses in parts of Atlanta, Los Angeles, Kansas City and Oklahoma City. The operator said that it will continue to expand its 100% fiber-based AT&T GigaPower network to additional locations and is planning to triple its availability by the end of this year.

AT&T's strategy is to roll out fiber-to-the-home(FTTH) to 56 markets in the country. To date, the operator has passed over 1.6 million homes in 21 markets.

AT&T said that the Ultra-broadband service allows users to instantly access the latest online movies, music and games, connect faster to the cloud, run video-conferencing and more. Users can download 25 songs in a single second, a TV show in 3 seconds or an HD movie in less than 36 seconds, it added.
