Idea Cellular announced that it has expanded its 4G LTE service to over 90 more towns in Kerala, taking the total number of towns it has covered to over 100. Idea said that the 4G LTE service now covers 53% of the total population in the state, across all 14 districts.

Idea’s 4G LTE service is available in the major towns of Alleppey, Kasarkod, Kalpetta, Kayamkulam, Nilambur, Perinthalmanna, Thalasseri, Vadakara, etc., in addition to the other major towns of Ernakulam, Trivandrum, Thrissur, Calicut and Malappuram that were launched earlier, built on a strong foundation of a total of 2,500 4G sites in the region. 

As part of the initial rollout of the service, Idea is offering all existing customers a free-of-cost upgrade to a 4G SIM and 1 GB of free 4G data.
