StarHub recently launched Netflix as a subscription video-on-demand (SVOD) offering on its Fiber TV Service leveraging NAGRA’s set-top box reference platform and operator-controlled security technology.
The new “StarHub TV on Fibre” service that will support the new Netflix service up to 1080p, allows subscribers to enjoy the same programming line-up, range of interactive services and user experience offered on the operator’s cable network. StarHub TV on Fibre gives subscribers access to the operator’s cable TV line-up of over 200 channels with features such as start-over and catch-up, as well as to a variety of interactive applications including weather, traffic, stock market updates, karaoke on-demand, and news using an IPTV set-top box.
According to NAGRA, its MediaLive multiscreen, OpenTV 5 connectware and anyCAST CONNECT content protection solutions enable the largest pay TV operator in Singapore to seamlessly deploy its latest digital TV offering on a brand-new all-IP network.
