Vodafone Italy launches 500 Mbps home fiber broadband service in the cities of Milan, Bologna and Turin, making it the first operator to achieve this speed in Italy. All new activations of the service will also have six months of Netflix subscription included. Vodafone said that the speed will enable its customers to take advantage of differentiated services, optimized audio quality and video streaming, accelerated file and multimedia content downloads with significant reduction in latency and waiting times.

Meanwhile, the operator's fiber service with speeds up to 100 Mbps is already available today in over 270 cities for 8.5 million households and businesses. Vodafone's competitor Fastweb has also embarked on similar expansion, with its recent announcement on the upgrade of its FTTH connections to 200 Mbps, with the goal of reaching 500 cities by 2020.

Vodafone Italy is investing in next-generation networks that pave the way for more and more advanced applications for businesses and consumers, allowing subscribers to enjoy a number of innovative services such as simultaneous access to content in high definition and immersive experience of virtual reality applications.
