Telkomsel, Indonesia's largest mobile operator announced that its 4G LTE service is now available in more than 100 city districts in Sumatra, Java, Kalimantan, Sulawesi, Bali and Nusa Tenggara region, as well as Papua. The operator said that it has deployed more than 4500 eNodeB (4G Base stations) in various regions in the country.

"We consistently strive to improve quality of the service and at the same time improve customer satisfaction. We also continue on other improvement efforts, including expanding the availability of the 4G LTE service, which can now be enjoyed in more than 100 city districts in Indonesia," said President Director of Telkomsel Ririek Adriansyah in a statement.

Telkomsel targets to have more than 12 million 4G LTE customers by end of this year, a sharp increase from its current 5 million subscribers. Telkomsel said that its 4G LTE service is the first in the country that is supported with international roaming, enabling inbound and outbound travelers to enjoy the 4G LTE service. The operator has partnered with 42 operator in five regions to enable the service.
