Vodafone Netherlands Recorded 2x 4G Traffic During New Year Eve

Vodafone Netherlands released its network data captured during the new year eve this year. The second largest mobile operator in Netherlands said that during the cross over to new year, between 18.00 and 04.00, Vodafone customers used 30 Terabytes (30,720 gigabytes) of Internet traffic on its 4G network, up 114% compared to the same period last year. 

SMS traffic also increased compared to a normal evening, though the number of SMS messages processed was 30 percent lower than last year. Vodafone however, recorded a 30% increase in SMS traffic during the Whatsapp disruption over the new year eve.

The mobile voice traffic also declined 3.6% this year compared to the previous year-end which recorded 7 million calls.
