Leading Wi-Fi provider, Boingo Wireless announced a premium tiered airport Wi-Fi service, providing faster speeds of up to 20 Mbps for power users. Power users who need their airport Wi-Fi to function like an extension of their home or office environment can choose from several paid options, including speeds of 20Mbps – bursting to 50Mbps. At the same time, Boingo retains free WiFi access for all other users which provides a minimum of 5Mbps speed.

The premium service is enabled by Boingo’s SMART network, where the Tiered portion of a SMART Network will be able to deliver different speed options, based on the traveler’s needs. Boingo’s SMART Networks are carrier Wi-Fi offload-ready, where mobile operator can partner to offload mobile traffic to Boingo’s Wi-Fi networks.

Boingo President Nick Hulse
