Bouygues Telecom is the first operator to offer native calling on the 4G network in France with the launch of its VoLTE service. VoLTE service offers enhanced voice quality and allows surfing on the 4G network for browsing, sending, sharing and downloading various content simultaneously while making a call.

Bouygues Telecom will initially offer the VoLTE service to 5000 clients, including 700 corporate clients, equipped with compatible terminals including the Samsung Galaxy S6 and Samsung Galaxy Edge S6. It will be rolled to all customers by 2016.

The operator which launched 4G service in 2013 has LTE coverage across 75% of the country and has 4.6 million 4G subscribers, representing 46% of the mobile base excluding machine-to-machine connections. Last year, the operator selected Ericsson to deliver end-to-end VoLTE capabilities and full IMS network integration in a multi-vendor environment.
