Telecom Italia(TIM) has announced the launch the LTE-Advanced based 4G+ service in Rome and four other major cities - Naples, Turin, Genoa and Prato, allowing customers to surf faster and stream high quality HD videos in Full HD (1920 x 1080 pixels) and 4K (3840 x 2160 pixels) format. The service will initially be available on Samsung S6 + Edge with plans to expand to more devices in coming weeks.

The operator achieved the speed via LTE carrier aggregation technology, combining three frequency bands of 800, 1800 and 2600 MHz.

TIM said the 300 Mbps LTE-A service will be rolled out in other Italian cities in the coming weeks and that all customers with compatible handsets can access 4G+ free of charge until December 2016.
