iPass has partnered with Fon Technology to add the latter's hotspots to its global network, to further boost its enterprise offering. Fon will bring nine million community hotspots from participating Fon partners to business clients using iPass, enabling iPass enterprise customers to access the newly added Fon hotspots as part of their iPass subscription.

According to iPass, both companies are in further discussions to provide members of the Fon community with access to iPass' worldwide premium hotspot network at airports, hotels and other public areas. In combination with other recent network partnerships, iPass claims that its enterprise users will have access to 50 million Wi-Fi hotspots worldwide by the end of 2015.

Patricia Hume, Chief Commercial Officer at iPass
I'm really excited about partnering with Fon as it supports this vision through significantly increasing our Wi-Fi hotspot footprint globally. When I came on board back in February, we stated we wanted to double the size of our network by the end of the year, and this partnership goes a long way to supporting this goal.
