Orange, in partnership with Visa becomes the first operator to launch prepaid NFC mobile payment service, Orange Cash across France, using the Visa contactless technology. The service is operated by the Wirecard group and Wirecard Card Solutions, a member of Visa Europe. Orange Cash is a prepaid rechargeable account for Orange customers, which works via the Orange Cash application.

Usersg of Orange Cash can make simple, secure everyday payments in all stores which accept contactless payment and on websites accepting Visa Cards. Once the app is downloaded on their NFC compatible Orange smartphones, Orange customers who have an NFC compatible SIM can activate the service following a few clicks. The service works with any bank and for the standard version, customers do not need to provide any documentation.

According to Orange, over three million Orange customers already have a compatible phone, which can be used at 324,000 points of sale across France. In addition, the application displays deals located nearby, so users can take advantage of offers from stores like Relay, Etam, Paul and Picard. With Orange Cash, customers enjoy access to special offers and are rewarded for using the service.
