Sprint's prepaid brand, Virgin Mobile has recently increased its high speed data allocation for its existing unlimited and new plans. Virgin Mobile's data plans provide 3G and LTE speeds for a specified quota, afterwhich the connectivity is throttled to 2G speeds. Together with the updated data plans, customers can also take advantage of the recently launched extra-cost data buckets, which allow customers to add either 1 GB or 2 GB of unthrottled data access for $5 per GB.

Under the new offer, Virgin Mobile’s starter package which begins at $35 per month now comes with unlimited talk, text, and 1GB of high speed data, up from 250MB. For the $45 a month package, users will get an additional of 2GB of high speed data, gving them a total of 3GB allocation. Lastly, for heavy data users, the operator increased the data allocation to 8GB from 3GB of high speed data for $55 per month.
