US fourth largest operator, Sprint has added 33 more destinations to its Open World coverage list, bringing the total up to over 60. The move follows rival T-Mobile's expansion of its Simple Global roaming plan to cover 20 new countries.
With the additions, Sprint's Open World plan now covers France and popular holiday destinations across the Caribbean islands such as Bahamas, Fiji, and the British Virgin Islands.
The Sprint Open World plan is a free addition that is separate from the company’s existing international roaming plan, giving customers unlimited free texting and great rates on calls and high-speed data. It offers free calls, plus 1GB of free data to Canada, Mexico and 12 countries across Latin America, but travelers to the other areas on the plan will pay 20 cents per minute for calls and $30 per gigabyte for data.
