Swisscom has introduced a new video chat feature on its Over-the-Top(OTT) messenger app, iO. In addition to sending videos and making video calls via the app, the new interactive VideoChat function enables customers to instantly share their emotions with their contacts via live video transmissions. Users can use the new function to instantly show and share videos while chatting.

The service is available to all iOS and Android users via the feature and for Windows devices,  the update will be available in autumn.

According to Swisscom, to use the VideoChat, subscribers just press the video button and start talking. As soon as the button is released, the video stops. Video clips created are not stored and therefore, can not be replayed.
