Sprint's newly launched 'iPhone Forever' plan allows a customer to upgrade to the newest iPhone once a year by leasing the device for a monthly fee. The time-limited 22-month leasing plan follows the Operators' 'iPhone for Life' plan introduced last year that bundles data with the device on a two-year contract.

The 'iPhone Forever' promotion which end 31st December costs $15 a month for a 16-gigabyte iPhone 6 on top of a customer’s wireless and data plan. If the customer upgrades after the promotion date, their monthly lease rate returns to current lease pricing of $22 per month. The offer is valid for both new and existing customers.

Sprint is positioning the new upgrade plan as a response to similar upgrade and leasing programs available from rivals T-Mobile, AT&T, and Verizon. In its statement, the company compared the iPhone Forever plan with other similar options in the market place.

Marcelo Claure, Sprint CEO
We asked ourselves, ‘What could we do that would move our customers forward with the latest and greatest technology every day?’ We decided: How awesome would it be if anytime customers don’t have the latest iPhone, they are eligible to upgrade, and have it be as simple as handing us your existing iPhone and picking up a new one – all included in your monthly rate.
