Wave Broadband, a gigabit fiber and broadband services company that raised $130 million last month to accelerate the expansion of its fiber network in California, Oregon, and Washington, has announced the launch of its Wave-G gigabit service in the San Francisco Bay Area with its Wave-G symmetrical gigabit and 100 Mbps internet service now live and available at San Francisco’s NEMA, a 750-unit property in the city’s Mid-Market neighborhood.  It is offering its gigabit service for a promotional rate of $80 per month.

Since acquiring CondoInternet in September 2013, Wave said in a statement that it has invested heavily in expanding its gigabit service by building out its fiber network, hiring additional staff and taking other measures to improve and expand its infrastructure. CondoInternet has provided gigabit internet service in Seattle since 2008 and has passed more than 20,000 area homes.

John van Oppen, SVP, CondoInternet and Wave
As a company that has provided robust and reliable gigabit service to tens of thousands of consumers for the past six years, we are excited to extend our gigabit offerings to San Francisco for the first time, especially in a premier development like NEMA. We look forward to bringing our high performance gigabit service to Bay Area residents who expect a leading customer experience at home as well as at work.
