Telefónica Launches 'Quintuple-Play' Service Bundle

Telefonica claims to be the world's first to launch 'quintuple-play' service in Spain with its company Movistar now offering a smart home security solution in partnersip with Securitas Direct. The addition of this new service will see Movistar now offering fixed and mobile broadband, TV and telephony as well as home security services. The new home security service will be based on machine-to-machine (M2M) communications that is already part of the company’s existing quad-play offering.

The service, Movistar VeriSure Hogar provides a 24-hour, 365-day emergency helpline(run by VERISURE), access control and video cameras with remote recording, bundled at a service fee of 16 euros per month and an equipment rental charge of 9 euros. The service will be delivered via Movistar's fibre optic or ADSL connection and the SigFox transmission system. 

  • The Movistar VeriSure Hogar package includes the ability to control authorized and unauthorized home access, control of video cameras, an immediate response service for emergencies and remote access enabled via a mobile application. 
  • According to Telefonica, both companies are also working on launching new added-value digital services in future, aimed at improving people’s everyday lives.
