Taiwan’s sixth 4G operator, Ambit Microsystems launches its commercial 4G LTE service last week and becomes the first operator in the country to offer Voice over LTE (VoLTE). Ambit is offering unlimited mobile data usage, free intra-network VoLTE calls and text messages, and 1000 minutes of free inter-network VoLTE calls for TWD998 ($32.60) a month.

Ambit's VoLTE calls are interoperable with Asia Pacific Telecom’s and Taiwan Mobile’s networks and the operator is reported to be in talks with Chunghwa Telecom, Far EasTone Telecommunications and Taiwan Star Cellular to its expand VoLTE service to their networks.

Ambit Microsystems secured a total of 20MHz in the 700MHz band and 900MHz band from the Goverment's spectrum auction in 2013.
