Indonesia’s largest mobile operator Telkomsel aims to capture half the country's 4G market this year. According to Telkomsel, its 4G LTE is supported by more than a 1000 eNode Bs (BTS 4G) and is able to cover more than 80% of Jakarta, Bali, Bandung, Surabaya and Medan. In addition, the operator has expanded the 4G LTE coverage in the majority of locations of outdoor and indoor in the inner city including strategic locations where traffic data usage has been relatively high, which among others include malls, office buildings, campuses, government buildings, tourist, residential areas, and airports. The operator said that since December last year, 240,000 subscribers have switched over to its 4G LTE service. 

In the capital city of Jakarta, Telkomsel has expanded its 4G LTE coverage to the areas of Depok, Tangerang and Bekasi, including the University of Indonesia, Depok. At the same time, as part of its effort to provide seamless experience on the network, Telkomsel is working with Telkom holding WiFi to boost indoor coverage, complementing the reach of 4G LTE. 

Meanwhile, said the company, for Telkomsel subscribers who travel abroad, the company will soon be offering international 4G LTE roaming via arrangements with Operators worldwide including Maxis (Malaysia), SK Telecom (Republic of Korea), SingTel (Singapore), Optus (Australia), Mobily (Saudi Arabia), STC (Saudi Arabia), Vodafone (UK, Spain, Germany, Ireland, Italy, Netherlands, Portugal), Globe (Philippines), CSL (Hong Kong), Taiwan Mobile (Taiwan) and Etisalat (UAE).

In presenting the 4G LTE service, we want this service can actually be perceived and used by people in different locations they visit. For that we will continue to add to the range network, so that more places served by Telkomsel 4G LTE.
