O2 WiFi Extra brings truly seamless mobile internet experience across its public Wi-Fi hotspots throughout the UK, without even requiring an app or signing in. The new service which willl be rolled out in the next two months, automatically switches customers with O2 SIM to available WiFi networks when "the WiFi signal is stronger than O2's 3G or 4G network". O2 has over 11,000 free public hotspots available in locations across the UK, including McDonald's restaurants, Debenhams, Costa Coffee and Bluewater.

The new service is supported across compatible smartphones, which include flagships such as the iPhone 6 and 6 Plus, HTC One M8, Samsung Galaxy S5 and Note 4, said O2.
