Canada's largest provider of wireless communications, Rogers Communications becomes the first operator to launch Voice over LTE (VoLTE) service across Canada, giving customers high quality HD voice and video call services, featuring faster call setup times and crystal clear voice quality. The operator brings the service to market with the introduction of the LG G3 Vigor smartphone, with plans to offer more VoLTE-ready devices later this year.

Rogers' VoLTE service is now available across Canada and sets the groundwork for rich communications services of the future, which will feature services such as enhanced phonebook, enhanced messaging and enriched calls including video sharing. Rogers which has over 9 million subscribers and 35% market share by revenue launched its LTE network in 2011 and has since deployed the network across the country. The operator has also started deploying LTE-Advanced network in some parts of the country.

Raj Doshi, Executive Vice-President, Rogers Communications
We know our customers lead busy lives and their smartphones help them stay in touch with family and friends. Now customers making voice and video calls will benefit from clear sound quality and the same lightning fast LTE speeds for calls that Rogers delivers to surf the web or stream from your mobile device. VoLTE will help our customers enjoy rich, multimedia voice services and we are proud to be the first Canadian carrier to offer it.
