Telstra bolsters its mobile plans with additional data and a bonus 6-month subscription of Foxtel's streaming video service, Presto under the Mobile Accelerate Plan and Business Easy Share Plan, said the company in a recent statement. From the 9th of April, Telstra's new customers signing up on its Mobile Accelerate Plans along with a new handset, will be eligible to boost their data allowance.

According to Telstra, depending on the plan level chosen by the customer, they will enjoy a bonus data boost ranging between 500MB and 7GB per month for the life of their contract for use within Australia. For example, customers taking up its $95 Mobile Accelerate Plan will receive a bonus of 3.5GB of data for a total data allowance of 6GB per month. For subcribers taking up the $130 Mobile Accelerate Plan, they will receive a bonus of 7GB of data for a total data allowance of 10GB per month.

Similar data boosts were also announced for its Mobile Accelerate BYO and Casual Plans. Telstra charges 3c/MB for excess data and the company said that data charges apply when streaming Presto over mobile networks.
