Connected Car Navigation and Mapping Provider HERE Powers Most New Cars at Paris Motor Show

Connected Car Navigation and Mapping Information Provider, HERE, in conjunction with the ongoing Paris Motor Show said in a recent statement that of the 62 new car models being presented at the event, 50 offer its in-vehicle navigation, mapping and location service. HERE, a Nokia company, provides one of the leading solutions in this segment boasting an extensive portfolio of clients that includes major names such as BMW, Daimler, FIAT-Chrysler, Ford, General Motors, Honda, Jaguar Land Rover, Nissan, Peugeot, Renault, Volkswagen and Volvo. 

According to HERE, more than 50 million cars around the world use their serice, with 6 million cars being added in the first six months of this year. As the connected car concept becomes more popular with potential car purchasers and also existing drivers looking out for ways to bring data connection into their cars, auto-makers are ensuring that their latest models are equipped with digital platforms that are connected to the internet and provide drivers access to navigation, infotainment and telematics services. Providers of content, specifically content related to the connected car are seeing a surge in the demand for their services as auto-makers and also service providers seek solutions that can be integrated to their connected car service offerings and provide great value for their customers.

HERE said that as the only dedicated location company with global reach in the market, it is able to deliver powerful, automotive-grade services that include features such as over-the-air map updates to keep in-car navigation always fresh; local search capabilities to find the nearest parking garages, gas stations, restaurants and other places drivers may want to stop; traffic information to help drivers beat congestion; mobile applications that connect seamlessly to in car systems and offline capabilities so that routing and other services work even when cars aren't connected.
