WIND Mobile 'First' to Launch 42Mbps Domestic Roaming Across Canada and the U.S.

WIND Mobile, the leading Canadian mobile network operator and part of Amsterdam-based Vimpelcom group has unveiled a new domestic roaming offer to its customers across Canada and the U.S.. The company said that the new offer will have data speeds of up to 350 times faster than before, at 42Mbps, and up to 95 per cent price drop for customers in these countries.

According to WIND mobile, the new rates are now 15C/minute for talk (formally 20C), 5C/message for text (formally 15C) and data is now only 5C/MB (formally $1). WIND Mobile plans to launch faster HSPA+ roaming in Canada in coming months.

"Our new domestic roaming rates and roaming network speeds give our customers the freedom to use their phone while travelling anywhere across Canada and the U.S., adding increased value and coverage to our already low-priced plans. WIND Mobile is offering Canadians exactly what they've asked for. We know that almost 50 per cent of Canadians are concerned with paying roaming fees within their home country, and that doesn't include U.S. travel. That's why we're committed to giving Canadians the choice for true mobile freedom and the fourth national carrier that they deserve."
