Just Rs1 for Farhan Akhtar's "Stroke of Midnight" Live Digital Concert for India's Independence Day Celebrations via Oxigen Wallet

What has a free concert and mobile payment got to do with each other? Oxigen, India's first and largest payment solution provider is giving away tickets for tonight's '"Stroke of Midnight Concert" held in conjuction with Indian Independence Day celebrations for just Rupee1 (less than USD0.02) via its mobile wallet service, the Oxigen Wallet. The event will be India's first virtual concert, which can be accessed by virtually anyone with a password 'ticket'.

According to Oxigen Services, all one needs to do to be eligible for the Rupee1 ticket is to dowload the Oxigen Wallet App on their mobile devices or sign-up on www.oxigenwallet.com followed by sign-up for the free Oxigen Wallet account. Users can start loading money into their 'Wallet' from their debit/credit card, from their banks via the IMPS Funds Transfer or upload an amount at the Oxigen Partner Outlets. Next, users make a Rupee1 payment for the Concert and receive a password that will become their access 'ticket'. Users can also sign up for Oxigen Wallet using their Facebook or Google+ Accounts, cutting short the hassle of creating new online accounts. The Oxigen Wallet App is available for both Android and iOS devices.

According to Oxigen Services, it is the first Reserve Bank of India approved non-bank wallet to be integrated with NPCi allowing instant money transfer from the Wallet to 60+ banks and vice versa using the Immediate Payment Service (IMPS). With Oxigen Wallet, users can recharge their accounts, make bill payments, transfer money and shop online. As at the time this article is written, approximately 12 hours before the event, the Stroke of Midnight Concert website showed more than 320,000 sign-ups. It will be a great event to usher the Independence Day celebration for Indians all over the world, and it will also mark a huge transition in how a mobile device is all that one needs to book, purchase and attend a concert!
