Danish Operator TDC NET is opening up its 5G mobile network in large parts of Denmark this week. The Operator targets to cover up to 80% of the population by end of September and 90 percent by the end of the year.

TDC NET started its 5G rollout on Zealand in October 2019 and has since upgraded 2,650 mast positions throughout Denmark.

Simultaneously with the upgrade of the network to 5G, TDC NET has also upgraded its 4G network. This means that all users will experience significantly faster download and upload of data as well as even better quality of the favorite series on the favorite streaming service.

5G will be the starting point for exciting future applications such as remote-controlled robots, drones, remote operations and self-driving cars, as well as increasing the opportunities for the smaller entrepreneur and the larger, established company to expand its position as a digital frontrunner, said TDC NET.

At the same time, TDC NET's network with the activation of 5G will be prepared for an everyday life with intelligent traffic management in the municipalities and digital health solutions in home care. The same is the case in the business world, where intelligent sensors help to streamline operations within smart solutions in agriculture or in industry.

Andreas Pfisterer, CEO of TDC NET
Throughout Denmark, TDC NET's mobile network will experience significant improvements in connections. And it brings new opportunities. The new 5G network paves the way for a new era for the digital economy, and gives Denmark the opportunity to expand its position as a global digital frontrunner.
