Vodafone UK rolls out a simple package, the Vodafone EuroTraveller, that allows its subscribers to continue using their voice, SMS and data services while they travel in Europe with an addon of just £2 a day. The £2 extra a day allows those travelling in Europe to use their UK price plan to consume voice and SMS services in addition to 100MB of data, which means that the same usage of data will result in the same charges although they now access it from anywhere in Europe.
The travel package, which will be launched on the 21st of July this year is still a pay-as-you-go plan, but is protected by the spending cap that Vodafone has put in place across its packages to safeguard subscribers against outages and bill shocks. Subscribers can therefore continue their chosen Vodafone Freebee pack or Extras and not be surprised by premium rates usually paid by subscribers when they sign up roaming services.
According to Vodafone, once subscribers hit their monthly £41.29 limit they will not be able to use their mobile internet overseas unless they text STOP to 40209 or call customer services on 191 from their Pay as you go mobile. In addition, customers using Vodafone EuroTraveller on Pay as you go will receive a free text alert when they are near to their 100MB data limit so they know how much they have spent.
