At the recently concluded Digital Transformation Asia 2019 (DTA 2019) event by TM Forum, Tara Neal, Executive Editor of The Fast Mode spoke to Snorre Solvang, Business Manager, Elisa Automate. The DTA 2019 event which took place in Kuala Lumpur from the 12th to 14th of November 2019 saw major operators as well as leading vendors coming together to showcase solutions and service innovations in the digital transformation space.
During the interview, Snorre discussed on how Elisa Automate is helping mobile operators automate and simplify their mobile network processes while improving service quality and reducing costs. Citing the network operations center as an example, Snorre shared on how automation enables Operators to receive timely alerts of events in the network and how this enables them to do away with manual and labour-intensive monitoring. Snorre also shared on how automation helps in other network processes such as load balancing and antenna tilting, and how automation will become even more critical as number of vendors in a multi-vendor environment continue to increase and as new technologies such as 5G become widespread.
