AT&T ventures into the connected car industry in Mexico via partnership with Kia Motors. The service provider will be collaborating with the auto maker to provide an Internet-of-Things(IoT) connectivity solution that will enable Kia drivers to track the whereabouts of their vehicle.

According to AT&T, it will be deploying the connectivity solution for Kia's recovery service, starting from the new KIA Forte 2019. It will be integrated into "MyKIA +", a mobile application developed by the automotive company. Via its recovery service, Find My Kia, drivers are provided an optional device that not only tracks and locates the car at any time, but also delimits, virtually, its travel area.

The service, according to AT&T, will be provided via the AT&T Control Center platform where the IoT solutions are administered. RESSER, the satellite tracking company that provides the vehicle recovery service will be working with the control center to keep tab of the location of the cars at all times, thus speeding up search processes. The AT&T platform is backed by a highly reliable global scale network, which is monitored 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

Andres Canales, Deputy VP of IoT, Mexico
At AT&T we have global experience in the IoT industry and as providers of integrated solutions, we simplify and improve the world through connectivity. We are excited to use the power of our network to offer advanced technology to Kia Motors drivers in Mexico.
