Australian fixed broadband operator and MVNO which is now building its own 4G network, TPG has announced that it will be launching six-month mobile plans at zero cost for its first customers in Q3-Q4 2018.

The SIM purchase and product support for the mobile plans will be available via TPG's online platform. The plan will come with Unlimited Data, with the first 1 GB of data every day supplied at 4G LTE speeds, after which speed will be capped at 1 Mbps for the remainder of the day. Customers who choose to continue with the plan after the 6 month free period will pay a monthly charge of $9.99.

TPG announced last year to become Australia’s fourth mobile network operator with a $2 billion investment to cover 80 percent of Australia’s population. Initial mobile network coverage will include CBD areas and numerous surrounding suburbs in Sydney, Melbourne, Adelaide, Canberra and Brisbane, as listed in the table below.

TPG will be sending out invitations to persons who express interest, with priority being given to existing TPG, iiNet and Internode broadband customers.

David Teoh, Executive Chairman, TPG
The TPG team has been working hard constructing our own network and I feel proud and excited to be introducing our very first on-net mobile product offering.

Craig Levy, COO, TPG
Throughout the duration of the trial, customer sign up will be available exclusively via the TPG website and customer support will be available online via the 'TPG Community' on our website where other users and TPG staff will provide feedback and assistance.
