Comcast announced nationwide availability of Verizon-powered MVNO mobile service, Xfinity Mobile for its current cable and broadband subscribers.
According to Comcast, Xfinity Mobile is now available across all of the operator’s sales channels in all of its markets.
The service, launched in May will be supported by over 18 Million Wi-Fi hotspots for a seamless internet and entertainment experience. Comcast claims that most consumers can save 30 percent on their wireless bill with Xfinity Mobile compared to other providers.
The service includes up to five lines with unlimited nationwide talk and text, and no line access fees. Xfinity Mobile features an unlimited data, talk, and text plan, for $45 a month for up to five lines compared to $65 per line when it was first launched. The available plans come with a free 100 MB of shared data per month.
With this launch, Comcast becomes the first cable MVNO provider. In addition to Comcast, Verizon has also signed MVNO agreement with Charter Communications.
